The primary purpose of the center is to advance the development of Lacanian Psychoanalysis through its transmission by providing certificates of analytic formation for members who finished their passage. In addition to private practice, the center’s analysts and candidates work in various local clinical and academic institutions.

With Four Training Program Tracks
通过四条培训路径获得证书
For applicants interested in a committed program of study, four tracks are available:
Lacanian Formation in the practice of psychoanalysis for licensed eligible clinicians, Research Analysis for applicants with a doctoral degree in any field, and Lacanian Scholarship. A fourth track, the Extension Division, is open to anyone wishing to pursue an introductory or advanced interest in Lacanian psychoanalysis without committing to a specific program of study. Formation consists of four years of seminars, a personal analysis, and two cases of analysis under supervision or control analysis. Research analysts conduct three cases of analysis under supervision and are certified by the center.

Zen Training
For the first time, we have paired Zen training with Lacanian formation. Students in this track, are practicing Zazen on a regular basis. They are either becoming priests or becoming lay teachers.
Dedicated to Psychoanalyst Training
The strength of the school is that most analysts and candidates have deep roots in the local culture and academic and clinical institutions. The school is one of three institutions approved and licensed by the Medical Board of California to train research analysts and is also a provider of continuing education by the Board of Psychology and the Board of Behavioral Sciences. We are dedicated to bringing quality training and certification to the area.

Seminar-Focused Learning
The main cultivation of knowledge utilized is a seminar format composed of small groups focused on Freudian texts and Lacanian seminars. Referrals for Personal Analysis
Chinese-American Center for Freudian & Lacanian Analysis and Research has a clinic that provides referrals to candidates under formation. Candidates may obtain cases through the school, or find cases on their own. Contact us today to learn more about our referrals for personal analysis.
Ethical Guidelines of CACFLAR
CACFLAR follows Lacan’s ethic that analysts should take responsibility for their desire, and not blame others. If someone complains about an analyst, they will be sent back to work on this in analysis. If the accusation is serious, then they will be encouraged to go to court. If the analyst is found guilty they will be expelled from the Center. Sexual relationship between analyst and analysand is not allowed for two years post-termination. A sexual relationship cannot be planned in advance.
